
Virginie Joron has been an RN (National Rally) member of the European Parliament representing France since 2019. She was re-elected in 2024 for a second mandate until 2029.
She is a member of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO) and the Budgetary Control Committee (BUDG), Petitions (PETI) and of the special committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS). In her first mandate (2019–2024), she was a member of the Legal Affairs and COVID Committees. She was chair of the RN group in the Grand Est region (2015–2019).
In the European Parliament, Virginie Joron served as group rapporteur and intervened on the files related to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Digital Services Act (DSA), EU Data Act, AI Act, European Media Freedom Act and ID Wallet. She believes that European data should be stored and processed in Europe in order to develop the sector. She is a staunch advocate for fiscal responsibility, rigorously opposing wasteful expenditure and inefficiencies in EU spending (COVID vaccines, NGO funding) to ensure optimal use of public resources. She is a strong supporter of freedom of opinion and medical confidentiality.
