Richard analyses European politics for MCC Brussels, focusing on party politics and political economy. He is a regular voice on the institute’s podcast and writes for publications including The European Conservative.
He studied political science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and later worked as a research associate at the Technical University of Munich, specialising in transport policy and multi-level governance. From his base in Bavaria, he witnessed both the decline of the political centre in Germany and how neighbouring countries responded differently to shared challenges. He now lives in Brussels, though he misses the quieter rhythms of Central European life.
