Fabrice Leggeri, born in 1968, is a French civil servant and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since July 2024. He represents the National Rally (Rassemblement National) and is part of the Patriots for Europe (PfE) parliamentary group.
Mr. Leggeri serves on several key committees within the European Parliament, including the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS), and the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula (DKOR).
He is a graduate of the École normale supérieure, Sciences Po, and the École nationale d'administration (ENA). He also holds degrees in history from the University of Paris.
His career in public service began at the French Ministry of the Interior, where he focused on Schengen cooperation, borders and visas. He later represented France as a national expert to the European Commission and held key administrative roles as sub-prefect in various regions of France.
He gained later on experience in defense, geopolitics and diplomacy as director at the French Ministry of Defense and then in Seoul as deputy-head of the French Embassy to Korea.
Mr. Leggeri was appointed Executive Director of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) in 2015. Under his leadership, the agency significantly expanded its operational capacity and reinforced the European Union’s external bord
