
Balázs Hidvéghi serves as Deputy Minister and Parliamentary State Secretary in the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister of Hungary. He was appointed to this position in September 2024, following his time as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), representing the Fidesz party.
During his time in the European Parliament from 2019 to 2024, he was involved in several committees, including the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs; the Committee on Foreign Affairs; and the Special Committee on Foreign Interference in All Democratic Processes in the European Union. He was also part of the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly.
Mr. Hidvéghi previously worked in several senior positions in multiple electoral campaigns in Hungary. Between 2016 and 2019, he served as Director of Communications for Fidesz. He was also a Member of the Hungarian Parliament and Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry for National Economy in Hungary.
He is married to Brigitta Pulay, and the couple live in Budapest with their four children.
