Alexandre Pesey is the founder of the Institut de Formation Politique (IFP), a leading French institution dedicated to training young people engaged in public and civic life. Since its creation, IFP has trained more than 4,000 young leaders and convened over 600 speakers from academic, political, economic, and nonprofit sectors.
Under his leadership, the Institute has developed several flagship initiatives, including the Tocqueville Fellowship, which organizes training programs in the United States and across Europe for emerging young leaders, and the Institut Libre de Journalisme (ILDJ), designed to renew journalistic excellence within the French media landscape. In 2023, he oversaw the acquisition of the École Supérieure de Journalisme de Paris (ESJ Paris), the oldest journalism school in the world.
Alexandre works closely with experts, foundations, and European institutions to advance a culture of responsibility, civic engagement, and intellectual transmission.
Together with his wife, Kate Pesey, Director of the Tocqueville Fellowship, he pursues the mission of forming responsible young leaders as a cornerstone for the future of their countries and shared civilization. They are the parents of six children.
